Gantries

A stainless steel gantry (sometimes known as an overshelf) is usually mounted on top of a hot cupboard or servery - it provides extra shelving and storage for plated food, ingredients, sauces etc.

Heated and ambient gantries are used in professional kitchens to assist cooks during preparation, and also in buffet and self service settings.

Heated Gantries

Heated gantries are heated electrically from above with guarded quartz lamps or infrared heaters and will keep the prepared food hot ready for serving.

Ambient Gantries

Ambient gantries are simply stainless steel shelving racks, used where the food is neither chilled nor heated (eg. cakes and pastries) or for non-food items such as crockery.
